It is found that the magnetic topology exhibits island-like structures at low-order rational surfaces. Since our hybrid simulations are usually set up to capture the dynamics of MHD waves and fast ions rather than magnetic reconnection, it is important to clarify how the limited resolution and PIC noise influence the reconnection process and how the magnetic islands influence the wave-particle interactions. First results and insights of our analyses are presented and discussed., Joint meeting of the 26th International Toki Conference (ITC-26) and the 11th Asia Plasma and Fusion Association Conference (APFA-11)}, title = {Role of Reconnecting MHD Modes in Hybrid Simulations of Beam-Driven Tokamak Plasmas}, year = {2017} }
