The Japan Clinical Study Group of Particle Therapy (JCPT) studied the radiotherapies of the particle therapy from 2002 to 2014 (calendar year). The JCPT consists of all particle therapy institutions in Japan. The aim of this paper is to report the status of particle therapy in Japan. The JCPT office gathered information about number of treatment from active institutes in Japan. The number of participating institutes is 14 (proton:9, carbon:3, both:1, non-active:1). Fields of collected data are primary lesion, gender, age and prefecture where patient lives. From 2002 to 2014, the number of total treatments was 28,716 cases (proton: 16,876 cases and carbon: 11,840 cases). The number of particle therapy in 2014 was 4,777 cases (proton: 2,813 cases and carbon: 1,964 cases). The JCPT office will cooperate between hospitals participating in JCPT and continue to maintain and manage Japanese particle therapy database in future., 日本放射線腫瘍学会(JASTRO)第28回学術大会}, title = {Current Status of Particle Therapy in Japan (from 2002 to 2014)}, year = {2015} }
