Although the C-ion radiotherapy has showed good outcomes, metastasis control is still crucial issue to be resolved. Our previous research showed that the combination of carbon ion radiotherapy and immature dendritic cells (iDCs) immunotherapy effectively inhibited distant lung metastases by using C3H/He and C57BL/6J mouse strains. In current study, our interest is whether other mouse strains could inhibit distant lung metastases by the C-ion and iDCs combination therapy. Therefore, mouse colon adenocarcinoma cells (Colon26) were grafted into the right leg of BALB/c mice. In contrast with previous results, the number of lung metastasis showed no difference between the irradiation group and the combined therapy group. Moreover, in vitro co-culture assay indicated that C-ion irradiated Colon26 cells were not able to activate iDCs into the mature DCs. These results indicate that genetic background or/and cancer cell type may have potent impact on the efficiency of the combination therapy. We will bring progress with mechanism of metastasis inhibition., 第73回日本癌学会学術総会}, title = {炭素イオン線ー樹状細胞併用療法による転移抑制効果に対する移植腫瘍とマウス系統の影響}, year = {2014} }
