Chem. Rev., 254, 372 (2010))。本研究では、活性酸素種のモデルとして頻用されている2,2-ジフェニル-1-ピクリルヒドラジル(DPPH)ラジカルが、アセトニトリル(MeCN)中、Sc(3+)により効率良く消去されることを見いだしたので、その反応機構について検討した。\n【実験・結果および考察】嫌気性条件下、25℃で、DPPHラジカルのMeCN溶液にSc(OTf)(3) (OTf = OSO(2)CF(3))を加えると、DPPHラジカルに由来する519 nmの吸収が減少するとともに380 nmの吸収が増大した。380 nmの吸収はDPPHラジカルを定電位電解により一電子酸化することで得られるDPPH(+)の吸収と良く一致した。519 nmおよび380 nmの吸光度の経時変化は、DPPHラジカルの濃度に対して二次の依存性を示した。以上の結果から、DPPHラジカルはSc(3+)の存在下で電子移動不均化を起こし、DPPH(+)とDPPH(-)が生成したことが明らかとなった。Sc(3+)はDPPH(-)を安定化することにより、この不均化反応を促進したと考えられる(Nakanishi, I., Kawashima, T., Ohkubo, K., Waki, T., Uto, Y., Kamada, T., Ozawa, T., Matsumoto, K., Fukuzumi, S., Chem.
