Besides, long-lived radionuclides in the radioactive waste repository sites will be transferred to estuarine areas through rivers. Estuarine areas are therefore important, but, distribution and biogeochemical behavior of the radionuclides in the estuarine areas are not well known and environmental transfer parameters were scarce because the distribution and biogeochemical behavior of the radionuclides in the estuarine areas are functions of the complex dynamics of the environments. To establish a database on concentration ratios (CR: concentration ratio between biota and water) for biota in estuarine areas, we obtained CR values for algae (green, red, and brown), molluscs (gastropods and lamellibranches), and crustaceans in various estuarine areas of Japan. In this study, we used stable elements as natural or chemical analogues of radionuclides of interest., 55th Annual Meeting of the Health Physics Society}, title = {Determination of water-to-biota concentration ratios and sediment-water distribution coefficients of stable elements in Japanese estuarine areas}, year = {2010} }
