It is largely related to achieving the appropriate irradiation and the planned dose in tumor, and also reducing unnecessary dose in normal tissue. We usually use visible laser pointer, X-ray imaging from multiple directions, and X-ray CT imaging as patient positioning equipments. Bone structure, characteristic organ/tissue landmark, and implanted metal marker are used for reference points.
