They are also regarded as effective radio-sensitizers when used in combination with radiation. To achieve the optimal therapeutic effect, the kinetics of the drugs should be fully understood. However, the micro-distribution of these drugs inside organs has not been well studied, due partly to the low molecular weight of the platinum compounds, i.e., the modification with fluorescent dye might change their kinetics.
