The treatment was by carbon ion RT alone at NIRS while multimodality therapy was at GUH. \n(Results) The 2-year survival was 85%, 55% for carbon ions RT and conventional treatment respectively. The mean cost was 4,271,395 for carbon RT grounp and 4,089,764 for the control group. The cost-effectiveness radio was 6,055 per 1% increase in survival. Cost of carbon ion radiation beams was 432,269. The mean cost of admission with hospitalization treatment at GUH was 3,385,333 while it was 506,334 at NIRS. The median of admission was 66 days at GUH and 37 at NIRS. \n(Conclution) By calculating all direct costs, this retrospective study supports the notion that carbon RT is a cost effective modality for LRRC., 日本放射線腫瘍学会第21回学術大会}, title = {COST-EFFECTIVENESS OF CARBON ION RT FOR LOCALLY RECURRENT RECTAL CANCER}, year = {2008} }
