In this study, we showed the influence of the carbon-ion beam on the carcinogenesis. Chromosome analyses were performed on mouse thymic lymphomas (TLs) induced by carbon-ion beam. A total of 16 specimens from three animals (B6: 5 specimens, C3H: 6 specimens and F1 (B6 x C3H): 5 specimens) were analyzed by Quinacrine-Hoechst banding technique and chromosome painting method. Carbon ion-induced TLs in B6 mice were not possessed in trisomy 15 at all, except for duplication of a part of chromosome 15 in one case, but trisomy of chromosome 15 was frequently observed in specimens from both C3H and F1 mice. On the other hand, the abnormality derived from chromosome 11 was identified in four specimens from B6 mice. Furthermore, the translocation of chromosome 11 was also detected in three specimens from F1 mice. The frequency of translocation of B6 and F1 was higher than C3H. In previous study, we showed that there is no difference of chromosome abnormality in X-ray induced TLs between mouse strains. However, the chromosome abnormality in TLs induced by carbon beam was not identical between these mouse strains. These results in the present study indicate that the genetic background of the host animals may have a profound influence upon the genetic event in the development of thymic lymphoma by carbon-ion beam., 第67回日本癌学会学術総会}, title = {重粒子線で誘発されたマウス胸線リンパ腫の染色体異常の系統差}, year = {2008} }
