We obtained 9C beam from a 430 MeV/u 12C beam with Be target in the secondary beam line at HIMAC. The production characteristics of 9C beams have been investigated and the optimal conditions to produce the beam with higher production rate and purity were found. A spot scanning system was used to deliver the ions to cell samples having an uniform irradiation field. Radiobiological experiments have been carried out for the beam with low intensity (0.3-0.5 Gy/h). HSG cells were placed at different depths, i.e. different LET along the penetration of the beam, and irradiated with the beam.
