When the steel is welded, cold cracking in heat affected zone (HAZ) has to be considered, because martensite is prone to form in HAZ as well as 9Cr-1Mo steel. Especially, in the case of multi-pass welding, its susceptibility should be remarkably higher than that in single-pass welding. Therefore, hydrogen concentrations in welds, which is well known as a cause of cold cracking, was evaluated by numerical analysis with combination of thermal elastic-plastic analysis and the developed simulation code to calculate hydrogen distribution. As dynamic calculation, tensile stress, which is closely equivalent to its yield stress, mainly occurred around fusion line.
