Nevertheless, during this final year we continued the following programs for clinical applications. (1) Installation of the microPET has been completed, and now it is ready for basic studies in vitro on porphyrin accumulation in cancer, and to test the new cancer-imaging merthod using the 52Fe-labelled porphyrin. (2) While a microPET facility is being installed at NIRS, we have accumulated experimental data that confirmed our hypothetical interpretations on the behavior of porphyrin in cancer at Tsukuba University. (3) Porphyrin compounds for cancer imaging have been developed at Tokyo University of Science. The technicalfeasibility of fabricating Fe-porphyrin, and Mn-porphyrin for the PET and for the enhanced MRI imaging were established. Now we are ready to test the new imaging methods applying to animals, before clinical applications., H19年度HIMAC共同利用研究成果発表会}, title = {ポルフィリン誘導DDS型癌医療のための基礎研究}, year = {2008} }
