Although these monitors have been calibrated by the institutions, comparisons of their measurements in the same condition in the space environment had disagreements. In order to understand these discrepancies and perform calibration in wide LET region, intercomparison program has been started on Jan., 2002. It is called the ICCHIBAN (InterComparison for Cosmic-rays with heavy Ion Beams At NIRS) project. Totally 22 institutions in 12 countries participated to the project and performed 10 experiment sets for 4 years.
