Receiving sharp retorts to this, ICMJE revised the format in July 2010. In the revision, themost important change was deletion of two articles in the guidance to disclose \"Financial relationshipsinvolving your spouse or partner or your children (under 18 years of age)\"and \"Non financial associations\"(personal, professional, political, institutional, religious, or other associations).\n  In Japan, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) released thereport on management of conflict of interest (COI) which mainly focused on university activities in 2002,and released another report on COI focused on clinical research activities in 2006. Then, the Ministry ofHealth, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) noticed the requirement for research institutes applying for MHLWfunding to have a COI management policy and governance framework in 2008.
