The study focused on the possible health effects from low level of tritium exposures and covered many aspects including metabolism, dosimetry, genetic damage, embryonic effects, postnatal development and neurobehavoiral changes after exposure to tritiated water (HTO) in vivo, and effects of tritium exposure from HTO or organically bound tritium compounds (OBT) on cellular proliferation and differentiation, Ca++ conductance, cell cycle, p53 expression, and apoptosis induction in neurons in vitro. Total 55 biological endpoints were used. The genetic risk, teratogenetic threshold, and relative biological effectiveness (RBE) for beta-rays from tritium to gamma or X-rays were estimated. These studies provide an indication of magnitude of biological effects and indicate a range of values of tritium RBE. Most of the data had been published so far only in Chinese language journals. This is the first time to introduce comprehensively the results of this systemic study in an international journal in English language.}, pages = {19--35}, title = {EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES ON BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF TRITIUM EXPOSURE IN LATE LAST}, volume = {4}, year = {2007} }
