Based on the heavy ion beam, this project is to study the protective effects of yeast â-glucan against heavy ion radiations on the cultured mammalian cells; further to explore the relationship between this protective effect and mammalian cells proliferation related signal pathway. Human lung normal epithelial cell line Beas-2b cells were exposed to Fe ion beams. After irradiation, survive rate, growth curve, apoptosis, and immunofluorescent of the cell samples, with or without pretreat with â-glucan, were analyzed. The results showed there were some protect effect of â-glucan to irradiated mammalian cells. More experiment should be performed to prove those results. We expect the results of this project could provide valuable experimental data for the development of a safe, effective radiation protection health food.}, pages = {96--97}, title = {Protective effects of yeast beta-glucan against the biological damage induced by heavy ion radiation and its related mechanism (16J320)}, volume = {2016}, year = {2017} }
