The signal waveforms are analyzed on site for the discrimination of different radiation components obtained with a phoswich-type scintillation probe. In the present study, the discrimination ability of the developed monitor was tested for accelerated carbon-ion beams and helium-ion beams at HIMAC. It was verified that the developed monitor can successfully detect helium ions and carbon ions separately.
