 note = {This year, effects of cysteamine and amifostine on the tumor control by C290 heavy-ion radiation were investigated. HeLa or RIF-1 xenograft tumors were formed on the right hind leg of nude mice or C3H mice, respectively. Amifostine or cysteamine was i.p. injected to the mice before local irradiation of C290 heavy ion. Tumor growth was measured and compared with that of control (no injection of cysteamine or amifostine). In both xenograft models, administration of cysteamine or amifostine did not significantly inhibit the tumor control by C290 heavy-ion.},
