We selected melanocytes for this purpose, since melanin synthesized in melanocytes is easily observable in vivo. Pregnant females of C57BL/10J mice crossed with C57BL/10J males were whole-body irradiated with a single acute dose of silicon ion to investigate its effects on embryonic melanoblasts. The effect was studied by scoring changes in the cutaneous coats of F1 offspring 3 weeks after birth. White spots were found in the ventrum and tail tips of the offspring. Anomalies of development were also observed in 18-day-old embryos exposed to silicon ion. These results suggest that silicon ion affects the proliferation and differentiation of melanocytes in the mouse skin as well as embryonic development of mice.}, pages = {74--75}, title = {メラノサイトの増殖・分化に対する重粒子線の影響}, volume = {NIRS-M-173}, year = {2004} }
