The S/N ratio was improved by using an experimental configuration to reduce electromagnetic and mechanical backgrounds as well as ambiguities due to misalignment. A detector array, which consisted of eighteen 0.5mm thick elements, was put in an acrylic chamber, with which the detector array was well aligned with the beam line. Thus, we obtained a relation between the energy loss and the summed thickness of PZT at each element. As the result, the energy loss vs PZT-thickness is consistent with calculated results based on the Bethe-Bloch formula. In addition, the energy loss in acrylic absorbers was well confirmed by the PZT array.
