An intense linearly polarized gammaray\nbeam with an energy lower than 1 MeV should be provided. In order to examine the available gamma-ray performance at the UVSOR facility by colliding a CO2 laser with a 746-MeV electron beam, a preliminary experiment has\nbeen performed.
