We measured cumulative gamma radiation doses using a recently commercialized personal dosimeter (D-shuttle). The results are shown as changes in daily cumulative dose rate (uSv/d), which was calculated from the difference between the tree-emitted dose and the environmental dose. The D-shuttle measurements significantly detected the targeted tree dose and reflected specific changes in the dose rates induced by fertilization, seasonal effects, or both. Even though further improvement and investigation (e.g., the shield set-up manner and an approximation of specific shielding effects of trees) is required to establish the specific correlation between the cumulative dose and radioactivity concentration, the D-shuttle could be a useful tool for monitoring long-term changes in radionuclide distributions in the natural environment.}, pages = {134--137}, publisher = {Aristotle University}, title = {Measurement of environmental radioactivity using a cumulative gamma radiation dosimeter: Fertilization-induced changes in young fruit trees}, year = {2016} }
