Recently the number of treated patients has been increased nearly 1000 per year. For the purpose of real-time verification of irradiation distribution in the patient’s body during a heavy ion cancer treatment, the capability of the so-called “Open PET” with the radioactive 11C6+ ion beam has been proposed and projectile fragment 11C ion beam, already has been tried to be applied, the beam intensity of which, was, however, rather poor, ~10E5 pps, and good S/N ratio had not been attained. So as to remedy this situation, the acceleration of the radioactive ions created by “Target Fragment” scheme with irradiation of the beams from the cyclotron has been proposed. In the present paper, in connection with the recent development of such a scheme, the acceleration scheme of the secondary produced radioactive 11C ion beam with HIMAC and its injector is investigated.}, title = {ACCELERATION SCHEME OF RADIOACTIVE ION BEAM WITH HIMAC AND ITS INJECTOR LINAC}, year = {2015} }
