Among several\ntypes of ion species, carbon ions were selected for cancer therapy because they were presumed to possess\noptimal properties in terms of biologically effective dose localization. Since June 1994, almost 50 clinical\nprotocols of CIRT have been conducted in an attempt to determine the optimal dose-fractionation and irradiation\nmethod for the treatment of specific diseases. Until August 2011, a total of more than 6000 patients had been\nregistered on to these protocols. These clinical studies revealed that many cancers can be cured safely with a\nshorter treatment period than conventional radiation. Based on these experiences, we embarked on the research\nand development of a new generation beam delivery facilities such as a 3D-scanning method with a pencil beam\nand a compact rotating gantry. A clinical research using the pencil beam scanning was in operation since May\n2011.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10003_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"National Institute of Radiological Sciences"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kamada, Tadashi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"555563","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"鎌田 正","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"555564","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"conference paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_5794"}]},"item_title":"Overview of the Carbon Ion Radiotherapy at HIMAC","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Overview of the Carbon Ion Radiotherapy at HIMAC"}]},"item_type_id":"10003","owner":"1","path":["2"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2013-11-14"},"publish_date":"2013-11-14","publish_status":"0","recid":"54389","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Overview of the Carbon Ion Radiotherapy at HIMAC"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-15T23:01:30.938299+00:00"}
