Among several types of ion species, carbon ions were chosen for cancer therapy because they appeared to have the most optimal properties in terms of both biologically and physically effective dose-localization in the body. We have investigated the efficacy of carbon ions against a variety of tumours and developed effective techniques for delivering the efficient dose to the tumour. The RBE of carbon ions was estimated to be 2.0~3.0 along the spread out Bragg Peak, for acute skin reactions. As of February 2006, a total of 2,629 Patients were entered in Phase I/II or Phase II trials and were analysed for toxicity and tumour response. Tumours that appear to respond favorably to carbon ions include locally advanced tumours and those with histologically non-squamous cell type of tumours such as adenocarcinoma, adfnoid cystic carcinoma, malignant melanoma, hepatoma, and bone and soft tissue sercoma. By using biological and physical properties of carbon ion beams, the efficacy of treatment regimens with small fractions in short treatment times has been confirmed for almost all type of tumours.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10003_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"International Atomic Energy Agency"}]},"item_10003_relation_10":{"attribute_name":"ISBN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"978-9-2010-5807","subitem_relation_type_select":"ISBN"}}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Tsujii, Hirohiko"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"549827","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"辻井 博彦","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"549828","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"conference paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_5794"}]},"item_title":"The Chiba Clinical Experience and Current Approach for Orescribing and Reporting Ion Beam Therapy:Clinical Aspects","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"The Chiba Clinical Experience and Current Approach for Orescribing and Reporting Ion Beam Therapy:Clinical Aspects"}]},"item_type_id":"10003","owner":"1","path":["2"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2007-08-29"},"publish_date":"2007-08-29","publish_status":"0","recid":"53883","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["The Chiba Clinical Experience and Current Approach for Orescribing and Reporting Ion Beam Therapy:Clinical Aspects"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-15T23:07:25.571358+00:00"}
