It was found that the reasonable agreement could be obtained only if the target-density effects are adequately accounted for. In addition, the present treatment allows one to estimate the distributions of excited states of the exit ions on the basis of equilibrium charge-state fractions and ionization and electron-capture cross sections calculated with the density effects included.
