A core part of the software is a real-time, real-space\ncalculation of electron dynamics in molecules and solids induced by an optical electric field\nsolving the time-dependent Kohn-Sham equation. Using a weak instantaneous perturbing field,\nlinear response properties such as polarizabilities and photoabsorptions in isolated systems and\ndielectric functions in periodic systems are calculated. Using a pulsed electric field, ultrafast\nelectronic responses induced by optical pulses that may be highly nonlinear in the field strength\nare explored in time domain. A propagation of a pulsed light in bulk solids and thin films is also\ndescribed by the coupled calculation of the electron dynamics in microscopic unit cells with\nthe Maxwell’s equations for the light electromagnetic fields. The code is eciently parallelized\nso that it may describe electron dynamics of large systems composed of up to a few thousand\natoms.
