This study examined\nthe relationship between MS and brain volumes related to the reward\nsystem in schizophrenia.\nMethod: We included patients with schizophrenia, with MS (MS+;\nn = 23), patients with schizophrenia, without MS (MS; n = 48), and\nhealthy controls (n = 54). Global brain volumes and volumes of\n(sub)cortical areas, part of the reward circuit, were compared between\npatients and controls. In case of a significant brain volume difference\nbetween patients and controls, the impact of MS in schizophrenia was\nexamined.\nResults: Patients had smaller total brain (TB; P = 0.001), GM\n(P = 0.010), larger ventricles (P = 0.026), and smaller reward circuit\nvolume (P < 0.001) than controls. MS+ had smaller TB (P = 0.017),\nGM (P = 0.008), larger ventricles (P = 0.015), and smaller reward\ncircuit volume (P = 0.002) than MS. MS+ had smaller orbitofrontal\ncortex (OFC; P = 0.002) and insula volumes (P = 0.005) and smaller\nOFC (P = 0.008) and insula cortical surface area (P = 0.025) compared\nto MS.\nConclusion: In schizophrenia, structural brain volume reductions in\nareas of the reward circuitry appear to be related to comorbid MS.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_8_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"Wiley"}]},"item_8_relation_13":{"attribute_name":"PubMed番号","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"30264457","subitem_relation_type_select":"PMID"}}]},"item_8_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"10.1111/acps.12955","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_8_relation_17":{"attribute_name":"関連サイト","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/acps.12955","subitem_relation_type_select":"URI"}}]},"item_8_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0001-690X","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"de Nijs, J."}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"864901","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"G.
