Compared to the conventional\ngrafting method, addition of the chain transfer agent resulted\nin lower amount of grafted poly(glycidyl methacrylate)\n(PGMA) on the PE/PP trunk polymer. The calculated degree\nof grafting increased with increment in absorbed dose and\nreaction time but decreased with increasing glycidyl methacrylate\nconcentration, at fixed monomer to CPPA ratio, and\namount of CPPA. An apparent first-order dependence of conversion\non monomer concentration was observed. The free\npoly(glycidyl methacrylate) that was formed in the polymerization\nmixture during grafting in the presence of CPPA had\nMn which increased with reaction time and polydispersity index\n(PDI) values less than 2. NMR analysis of the PGMA\nhomopolymer indicates the presence of dithiobenzoate group\nfrom CPPA at one end of the polymer chain.
