Polyethylene glycol-conjugated (PEGylated) polyion complex vesicles (PICsomes) are promising hollow nano-capsules that can survive for long periods in the blood circulation and can be used to deliver water-soluble macromolecules to target tissues. In this study, cyclic RGD (cRGD) peptide, which is specifically recognized by αVβ3 and αvβ5 integrins that are expressed at high levels in the neovascular system, was conjugated onto the distal end of PEG strands on PICsomes for active neovascular targeting. Density-tunable cRGD-conjugation was achieved using PICsomes with definite fraction of end-functionalized PEG, to substitute 20, 40, and 100% of PEG distal end of the PICsomes to cRGD moieties. Compared with control-PICsomes without cRGD, cRGD-PICsomes exhibited increased uptake into human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Intravital confocal laser scanning microscopy revealed that the 40%-cRGD-PICsomes accumulated mainly in the tumor neovasculature and remained in the perivascular region even after 24 h. Furthermore, we prepared superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO)-loaded cRGD-PICsomes for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and successfully visualized the neovasculature in an orthotopic glioblastoma model, which suggests that SPIO-loaded cRGD-PICsomes might be useful as a MRI contrast reagent for imaging of the tumor microenvironment, including neovascular regions that overexpress αVβ3 integrins.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_8_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"IOP Publishing"}]},"item_8_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"10.1088/1468-6996/16/3/035004","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_8_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"1468-6996","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kawamura, Wataru"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475360","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Miura, Yutaka"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475361","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kokuryo, Daisuke"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475362","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Toh, Kazuko"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475363","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Yamada, Naoki"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475364","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Nomoto, Takahiro"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475365","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Matsumoto, Yu"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475366","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Daiki, Sueyoshi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475367","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Liu, Xueying"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475368","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Aoki, Ichio"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475369","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Nobuhiro, Nishiyama"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475370","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Saga, Tsuneo"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475371","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kishimura, Akihiro"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475372","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kataoka, Kazunori"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475373","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"國領 大介","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475374","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"青木 伊知男","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475375","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"佐賀 恒夫","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"475376","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Density-tunable conjugation of cyclic RGD ligands with polyion complex vesicles for the neovascular imaging of orthotopic glioblastomas","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Density-tunable conjugation of cyclic RGD ligands with polyion complex vesicles for the neovascular imaging of orthotopic glioblastomas"}]},"item_type_id":"8","owner":"1","path":["1"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2016-08-10"},"publish_date":"2016-08-10","publish_status":"0","recid":"47453","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Density-tunable conjugation of cyclic RGD ligands with polyion complex vesicles for the neovascular imaging of orthotopic glioblastomas"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-15T23:39:39.864682+00:00"}
