Here, we have characterised the blending of poly (ether sulfone) (PES) and poly (ethylene naphthalate) (PEN), which have dissimilar repeat units. The blended substrate is a faint-amber-coloured resin, and its density is between that of PES and PEN (1.34 g/cm3). Its excitation spectrum has a maximum at 370 nm and differs from the component substrates. However, the emission spectrum is similar to that for PEN substrates, and does not exhibit short-wavelength light from the PES component, even when excited by the excitation maximum of PES. These results reveal that excitation energy is being transferred to a lower energy level before it is emitted as light, with a maximum at 420 nm. By taking into account its emission spectrum, an effective refractive index was determined to be 1.70. Light yield distributions generated by 137Cs and 207Bi radioactive sources indicated that the blended substrate had a yield 2.23 times that of PES, and 0.68 times that of PEN. Overall, the results demonstrate that polymer blends can have scintillation characteristics that differ in some ways from those of the base substrates, with a potential advantage in being able to control them.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_8_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"Elsevier"}]},"item_8_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"DOI: 10.1016/j.nima.2014.05.053","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_8_relation_17":{"attribute_name":"関連サイト","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_name":[{"subitem_relation_name_text":"http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0168900214005804"}],"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0168900214005804","subitem_relation_type_select":"URI"}}]},"item_8_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0168-9002","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Nakamura, Hidehito"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"467173","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Shirakawa, Yoshiyuki"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"467174","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Sato, Nobuhiro"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"467175","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kitamura, Hisashi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"467176","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Takahashi, Sentaro"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"467177","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"中村 秀仁","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"467178","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"白川 芳幸","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"467179","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"北村 尚","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"467180","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Blended poly (ether sulfone) and poly (ethylene naphthalate) as a scintillation material","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Blended poly (ether sulfone) and poly (ethylene naphthalate) as a scintillation material"}]},"item_type_id":"8","owner":"1","path":["1"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2014-10-15"},"publish_date":"2014-10-15","publish_status":"0","recid":"46831","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Blended poly (ether sulfone) and poly (ethylene naphthalate) as a scintillation material"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-15T23:47:05.576001+00:00"}
