The initial\ndamages measured by premature chromosome condensation\nwere equal per dose in both irradiation types. Horizontal\nirradiation proved to be less eff ective in cell killing than vertical\nat doses of more than 3 Gy. Vertical irradiation produced a higher\nnumber of metaphase chromosomal aberrations compared\nto horizontally irradiated samples.
