This method will be applied to primary cultured cells obtained from biopsies from patients. Six primary culture biopsies were obtained from 6 patients with carcinoma of the cervix before starting radiotherapy. The cultures were irradiated with two different LET carbon-ion beams (LET= 13 keV/µm, 77.1+2.8 keV/µm) and 200kV X rays. The carbon-ion beams were produced by the Heavy Ion Medical Accelerator in Chiba (HIMAC). PCC was performed using the polyethylene glycol-mediated cell fusion technique. The yield of excess chromatin fragments were measured by counting the number of unrejoined chromatin fragments detected with the PCC technique after a 24-hour post-irradiation incubation period. Obtained results indicated that cultures, which were more sensitive to killing, were also more susceptible to the induction of excess chromatin fragments. Furthermore there was a good correlation between cell killing and excess chromatin fragments among the 6 cell cultures examined. There is also evidence that the induction of excess chromatin fragments was increasing with increasing LET as well as cell-killing effect in the same cell culture. The data reported here support the idea that the yield of excess chromatin fragments detected with the PCC technique might be useful for predicting radiosensitivity of cells contained in tumor tissue, and to predict responses to different radiation types.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_8_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"1021-335X","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Suzuki, Masao"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"443832","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Tsuruoka, Chizuru"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"443833","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Nakano, Takashi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"443834","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Ohno, Tatsuya"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"443835","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Furusawa, Yoshiya"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"443836","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Okayasu, Ryuichi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"443837","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"鈴木 雅雄","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"443838","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"鶴岡 千鶴","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"443839","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"中野 隆史","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"443840","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"大野 達也","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"443841","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"古澤 佳也","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"443842","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"岡安 隆一","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"443843","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"The PCC assay can be used to predict radiosensitivity in biopsy cultures irradiated with different types of radiation","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"The PCC assay can be used to predict radiosensitivity in biopsy cultures irradiated with different types of radiation"}]},"item_type_id":"8","owner":"1","path":["1"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2006-11-09"},"publish_date":"2006-11-09","publish_status":"0","recid":"44700","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["The PCC assay can be used to predict radiosensitivity in biopsy cultures irradiated with different types of radiation"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-16T00:12:22.350943+00:00"}
