MATERIALS AND METHODS: Two human esophageal cancer cell lines, TE-1 (mutant p53) and TE2 (wild-type p53), were used. To inhibit the pathways selectively, 3 specific kinase inhibitors, AG1478 (an inhibitor of EGFR), PD98059 (an inhibitor of MEK) and LY294002 (an inhibitor of PI3K), were combined with radiation. RESULTS: Radiation in combination with these kinase inhibitors potentiated radiation-induced cell killing synergistically. Enhancement ratios were greater in TE-2 than those in TE-1. Radiation in combination with kinase inhibitors increased the expression of the active form of caspase-3 and the PARP cleavage only in TE-2 that has wild-type p53. CONCLUSION: Targeting the key molecules of the survival signal transduction pathway resulted in potentiation of radiation-induced cell killing. The results of this study suggest that the survival signal transduction pathways would be a molecular target in enhancing radiosensitivity.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_8_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0250-7005","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Akimoto, Tetsuo"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"433563","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Nonaka, Tetsuo"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"433564","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Harashima, Koichi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"433565","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Ishikawa, Hitoshi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"433566","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"et.al"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"433567","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"石川 仁","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"433568","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Selective inhibition of survival signal transduction pathways enhanced radiosensitivity in human esophageal cancer cell lines in vitro","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Selective inhibition of survival signal transduction pathways enhanced radiosensitivity in human esophageal cancer cell lines in vitro"}]},"item_type_id":"8","owner":"1","path":["1"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2005-01-11"},"publish_date":"2005-01-11","publish_status":"0","recid":"43607","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Selective inhibition of survival signal transduction pathways enhanced radiosensitivity in human esophageal cancer cell lines in vitro"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-16T00:25:12.932346+00:00"}
