Study of conditions essential for the induction of AR is of\ncritical significance to understanding the novel biodefense mechanisms\nagainst the hazardous effects of irradiation. In our previous studies, the\nspecific dose and timing of radiation for induction of AR were demonstrated\nin ICR mouse fetuses, namely, exposure of the fetuses on embryonic day 11 to\na priming irradiation of 0.3 Gy significantly suppressed prenatal death and\nmalformation induced by a challenging dose of irradiation on embryonic day\n12. As a profound dose-rate effect has been observed in a variety of\nradiobiological phenomena, the dose-rate effect on the effectiveness of AR\ninduction by a priming irradiation of 0.3 Gy administered to fetuses on\nembryonic day 11, was investigated in the range from 0.06 to 5.0 Gy/min. The\noccurrence of apoptosis in limb buds, incidences of prenatal death and\ndigital defects, and postnatal mortality induced by a challenging dose of\n3.5 Gy given at 1.8 Gy/min to the fetuses on embryonic day 12, were employed\nas biological endpoints. Unexpectedly, effective induction of AR was\nobserved within two dose-rate ranges for the same dose of priming\nirradiation, namely, from 0.18 to 0.98 Gy/min and from 3.5 to 4.6 Gy/min,\nfor reduction of the detrimental effect induced by a challenging dose of 3.5\nGy. While when the priming irradiation was delivered at a dose rate outside\nof these two ranges, among some of them being contrary even the elevated\ndetrimental effects were observed. In general, neither a normal or reverse\ndose-rate effect was found in the dose-rate range tested. These results\nclearly indicated that the dose rate at which the priming irradiation was\ndelivered played a crucial role in the induction of AR. This paper provides\nthe first evidence for the existence of two dose-rate ranges for the same\ndose of priming irradiation to successfully induce AR in mouse fetuses.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_8_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0033-7587","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Bing, Wang"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431414","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Ohyama, Harumi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431415","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Shang, Yi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431416","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Tanaka, Kaoru"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431417","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Aizawa, Shirou"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431418","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Yukawa, Osami"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431419","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Hayata, Isamu"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431420","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"王 冰","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431421","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"大山 ハルミ","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431422","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"尚 奕","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431423","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"田中 薫","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431424","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"相澤 志郎","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431425","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"湯川 修身","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431426","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"早田 勇","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"431427","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Adaptive Response in Embryogenesis: V.
