However, the main source of this compound in nature is still unclear. Here we report that a wide variety of bacteria including terrestrial and marine bacteria was found to be capable of methylating the environmental level (0.1 オM) of iodide. Of the strains tested, Rhizobium sp. strain MRCD 19 was chosen for further analysis and it was found that the cell free extract catalyzes the methylation of iodide with S-adenosyl-L-methionine as methyl donor. These results strongly indicate that bacteria contribute to iodine transfer from the terrestrial and marine ecosystems into the atmosphere.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_8_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0099-2240","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Amachi, Seigo"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"426971","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kamagata, Yoichi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"426972","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kanagawa, Takahiro"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"426973","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Muramatsu, Yasuyuki"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"426974","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"天知 誠吾","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"426975","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"村松 康行","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"426976","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Bacteria mediate methylation of iodine in marine and terrestrial environments.","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Bacteria mediate methylation of iodine in marine and terrestrial environments."}]},"item_type_id":"8","owner":"1","path":["1"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2002-06-07"},"publish_date":"2002-06-07","publish_status":"0","recid":"42902","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Bacteria mediate methylation of iodine in marine and terrestrial environments."],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-16T00:33:35.987282+00:00"}
