| 内容記述 | Quick ion-switching of a multi-ion electron cyclotron resonance ion source (ECRIS) has been realized for multi-ion radiotherapy at the Quantum Scalpel accelerator complex. To realize the quick ion-switching, we developed a new gas-feeding method based on the result of a simple numerical analysis. The newly developed method injects gases into the plasma chamber via the waveguide system. The method drastically shortens the width of the gas pulse used for plasma production. We performed tests to evaluate the ion-switching performance and confirmed that the method shortened the pure ion-switching time from 28-150 s as reported previously to 5-16 s, depending on the ion-switching process. In this paper, we report the details of the new method and the ion-switching performance of the multi-ion ECRIS. | |||||||||||
