The nucleus tractus solitarii (NTS) is a brainstem structure that receives information from various internal organs and relay them to brain networks regulating emotions and metabolisms. Here we describe minimally-invasive in vivo two-photon imaging method to record neural population activity in the NTS at cellular resolution, which is useful to elucidate the neural mechanisms underlying the heterogeneity of the NTS neurons. |
