| 内容記述 | Radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas, poses a significant health risk due to its potential for lung cancer induction. Accurate and reliable radon detection is crucial for environmental monitoring and risk assessment. This study presents a comparative analysis of the sensitivity of two distinct detector technologies: Timepix, a pixelated semiconductor detector, and SSNTD.Timepix detectors, characterized by their high spatial resolution and energy discrimination capabilities, offer the potential for detailed radon progeny analysis. SSNTDs, such as CR-39, are passive integrating detectors widely used for long-term radon monitoring due to their simplicity and cost-effectiveness. This investigation aims to quantify and compare the sensitivity of these detectors under controlled radon exposure conditions.Experiments were conducted in a small radon chamber, exposing both Timepix-based systems and SSNTDs to a controlled radon concentration. The response of each detector was analyzed, focusing on the count rate for Timepix and track density for SSNTDs, as a function of radon concentration and exposure time. The detection efficiency and minimum detectable activity were determined for each technology. | |||||||
