This study used a positron-emitting tracer imaging system (PETIS) with [¹¹C]CO₂ to visualize and quantify real-time photosynthates translocation in living strawberry plants. By labeling individual leaves and imaging the movement of photosynthates to fruits, the research revealed that translocation patterns vary depending on leaf position and inflorescence structure. Cluster analysis showed that fruits on the same peduncle often share common source leaves. These findings highlight the significance of plant architecture in carbon allocation and suggest that targeted leaf management could improve fruit yield and quality in protected horticulture. |
