The expression level of p16 and\np21 gradually increased after irradiation. Although the\nexpression level of LC3 also increased until a few days\nafter exposure, pp62 decreased rapidly. It is inferred\nthat pp62 is necessary for selective autophagy, but be\ndecomposed after the autophagy. For these processes,\nit might contribute to intracellular homeostasis. These\nresults indicated that selective autophagy could be\nactivated immediately after irradiation, and then,\nnon-selective autophagy could be activated and cause\nsecretion of certain factors inducing late effects, such as\ncarcinogenesis of surrounding cells. Those evidences suggest that intracellular environment in senescent cells would be different from that of normal cells.
