This year we focused on the difference in the cell-killing effect between p53-wild and p53-mutated type human cell lines. Cells were irradiated with 25\u0026#181;m-thin (200\u0026#181;m beam space) X-ray microplanar beams generated with the SPring-8 at Japan Synchrotron Radiation Research Institute. The results showed that the recovery from the cell-killing effect was occurred in p53-wild type cells after 12h of post-irradiation incubation, but no recovery observed in p53-mutated type cells. Furthermore, the recovery was suppressed to the same level with the surviving fraction of the p53-mutated type cells, when using a specific inhibitor of gap-junction mediated cell-cell communications together.
