Fuji Weather Station built at the summit of Mt. Fuji (3,776 m above see level) from July to August, 2008. Two types of detector were used. One was an extended energy-range rem counter, named WENDI-II, with a tungsten-mixed moderator covering almost a whole energy range of cosmic neutrons. The other was a phoswich detector developed by us for high-energy neutron measurement up to hundreds of MeV, which has a $phi$ 160 mm x 160 mm probe consisting of liquid scintillator and plastic scintillator. The averaged neutron ambient dose equivalent rate at the summit of Mt. Fuji obtained using the WENDI-II was about 0.1 [micro Sv/h], which is about 10 times greater than that at sea level. The signals of neutron obtained using the phoswich detector were discriminated from those of other particles, such as protons, electrons, muons, and photons, analyzed based on the difference of the decay time between the liquid scintillator and the plastic scintillator.
