We studied differences between Chondrosarcoma and chordoma on diffusion-weighted imaging.\nObjects and Methods: Thirty-three patients (12with Chondrosarcoma and 21 with chordoma) underwent both conventional and diffusion-weighted MR imaging. MR imaging was performed at a 1.5 Tesla system with T1-weighted spin-echo sequence, gadolinium-enhanced T1-weighted spin-echo sequence, T2-weighted spin-echo sequence, and diffusion weighted sequence(b=0 and 1000 s/mm2).After creating apparent diffusion coefficients (ADC) maps, we compared the value of ADC of chondrosacoma with that of chordoma.\nResults: Both tumors have high intensity on T2-weighted MR image and moderate staining on T1-weighted MR image after gadolinium administration. Average of value of ADC is1.98 X 10(-3) mm2/s in Chondrosarcoma(N=12) and 1.24 X 10(-3) mm2/s in chordoma (N=21),respectively. 内容記述 | Purpose: Chondrosarcoma and chordoma frequently have the same appearance on imaging studies. Both chordoma and chondrosacoma destroy bony structures with few calcification in tumor on CT imaging and high intensity on T2-weighted MR imaging with moderate staining after gadolinium administration. We studied differences between Chondrosarcoma and chordoma on diffusion-weighted imaging. Objects and Methods: Thirty-three patients (12with Chondrosarcoma and 21 with chordoma) underwent both conventional and diffusion-weighted MR imaging.
