An advanced design for Divertor Impurity Monitor (DIM) and IR Thermography (IRTh) is being developed in Japan to contribute to the divertor plasma control and research in ITER through the spectroscopic measurement with high spatial and spectral resolutions and accurate measurement of the target temperature. Through the detailed design activity, important design driver for the front end optics was highlighted and progressed.
